Marketing consultant and fractional CMO

As a marketing consultant I help founders and leadership teams decide who to sell to, why they win and which markets to enter next. Then we build the plan and the team to deliver it. For companies without a full-time marketing head, I can take that role part-time as a fractional CMO.

Where I help

  • Positioning and messagingA one-sentence position your buyers can repeat, the proof behind it and the words your sales team will use.
  • Go-to-market strategyTarget segments, offers, pricing, channels and the sales motion for a new product or service.
  • New market expansionEntering the US, Europe, the Gulf or Asia Pacific, with what changes in the pitch for each.
  • Strategic planningTurning a vision into a 12-month plan with clear goals, owners and measures.
  • Fractional CMOOwning the marketing plan, budget and numbers part-time, with my team or yours executing.
  • Advisory boardA senior sales and marketing voice on your board or advisory council.
  • Business growth consultingFinding new revenue streams, products or markets that fit your strengths, and the operating changes needed to scale them.
  • Branding and brand strategyMessaging, visual identity and positioning that build trust before the first sales call.

Strategy that starts from the sale

I came to marketing from sales, not the other way round. I have carried a quota, run sales teams for two regions and been responsible for a whole company’s operations. So I judge a marketing plan by one question: will it put us in front of the people who buy, at a cost that makes sense?

That changes what strategy looks like. Fewer channels, done properly. Messages written in the buyer’s language. Targets agreed with sales before anything is launched. And a plan your team can actually carry out, not a deck that sits in a folder.

Fractional CMO: senior leadership without the full-time cost

Many growing companies need a marketing head but can’t yet justify the salary, or don’t know what to look for in one. As a fractional CMO I spend a set number of days each month owning the plan, the budget and the reporting, and managing the people or agency doing the work. When you are ready to hire full time, I help you find and onboard the right person.

Frequently asked questions

What does a marketing consultant do?

A marketing consultant looks at your market, customers and current results, then helps you decide where to focus and how. That usually covers positioning, target customers, channels, budget and the team needed to deliver the plan.

What is a fractional CMO?

A fractional CMO is a senior marketing leader who works with your company part-time. They own the marketing strategy and results without the cost of a full-time executive.

When should a company hire a marketing consultant?

Common moments are when growth stalls, when entering a new market, when launching a product, or when marketing spend is rising without a clear return.

Do you join advisory boards?

Yes, for B2B, IT services, eLearning and marketing technology companies where sales and marketing growth is the central question. I served on the advisory board of an eLearning company from 2021 to 2025.

What is business growth consulting?

Business growth consulting means working with a company to find where growth will come from, whether new customers, markets, products or better conversion, and then building the plan, team and processes to get there.

Do you work with startups?

Yes, from early revenue onward. For very early startups I usually recommend a short strategy session or positioning sprint rather than an ongoing engagement.

Tell me what you’re trying to grow.

A 30-minute call, no pitch deck. You’ll leave with at least one thing you can act on.
